Last updated: April 23, 2026
1. Introduction
QR & Barcode Scanner ("the App") is developed and operated by Scratterz ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
This policy applies globally and is designed to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), and other applicable data protection laws.
2. Data We Collect

The following data is processed and stored exclusively on your device. We never have access to it:

| Open Food Facts | Barcode numbers (product EAN/UPC) | Fetching product information (optional, disabled by default) |
Version 1.4.0 (April 2026): This app is completely ad-free. No advertising IDs, tracking cookies, or advertising-related data is collected or shared.

4. App Permissions
The App requests only the permissions it needs:
| Permission | Required | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Yes | Scanning QR codes and barcodes. Images are processed in real-time and never stored or transmitted. |
| Internet | No | Required only for product information lookup and in-app purchases. Core scanning works offline. |
| Vibration | No | Optional haptic feedback on successful scan. Can be disabled in settings. |
5. Data Security
Your local app data is stored in the App's private storage on your device, accessible only by the App itself. All data transmitted to third-party services (Open Food Facts, RevenueCat) is encrypted in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
We recommend enabling a device lock (PIN, fingerprint, or face recognition) for additional protection of your data.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
